Description
Pot with Spiral, Wood-Fired in Bali
This pot holds both stillness and movement.
The spiral surface was worked by hand while the clay was still soft, so the pattern follows the pot’s rounded form all the way around.
The pot is wood-fired in a small Gayagama kiln in Bali, completely unglazed.
The ash and the long, intense firing have given the clay a warm, earthy tone in olive-brown and gold — and made the surface fully watertight.
