Yunomi – Organic Cup with a Rugged Surface
This yunomi cup is signed by fire and ash. Hand-thrown in stoneware and wood-fired, with a deeply textured, almost bark-like surface in dark brownish-black. From the irregular, organic rim, an amber-colored ash glaze runs down over the inside of the cup.
The form is organic and closes around the hand. The surface is tactile and full of variation — each cup is its own unique expression of the firing.
